Friday Night Pampering Session (including DIY Lip Scrub)

Friday night is when I usually take the time to care for myself. After a long week at work, I try to take a long bath and give my body a needed scrub, see video here.

I also take the time to wash my hair and style it for my weekend outings. See my twist out routine here.

Then I focus on my face. Here is a short video showing you how I take care of my face for a skin with no to minimal imperfection. I use all natural and organic products.

I use the Fresh Start Regenerative mud mask by London Ivy products. This product was sent to me a few months ago for a review. I really like it. It leaves me with a fresh and clean face. When I use this mask, it makes my nose run and clears my airways… It is my first time experiencing this with a mask. It contains peppermint oil with is something I usually use to get rid of Sinus Congestion. This totally makes sense! I have normal to oily skin. My T zone responds well to the product and was left oil free. It also remove visible black heads on my nose!

Ingredients:

Silt (Dead Sea Mineral Mud)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil)*, Moroccan Lava Clay (Rhassoul Clay)•, Mentha Arvensis (Peppermint)*, Melaleuca Altermifolia (Tea Tree Oil)•, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary)•, Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) oil•, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange)•, Olea Europaea (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)•[For External Use Only]

Next I did a lip scrub. I have a simple recipe you can follow.

  • One tbsp of sugar
  • A little bit of honey
  • A generous tea spoon (I totally eye-balled it lol) of coconut oil

Here is a short clip:

The coconut oil makes it a very soft lip scrub. I find that Honey + sugar makes a more aggressive product to use and my lips wants TLC, especially in the winter. I still added the honey since it is a natural preservative. I can use this mixture in the next couple of weeks.

I then followed with a natural toner. My toner of choice is Witch Hazel which is known to be an effective low cost product.

Now it is time to moisturize my skin. I use the Rejuvenating + Nourishing Face Serum by London Ivy Products. I was also sent this product for a review. I’ve been using it every morning and before bed for the past month and a half. At first, I was scared to use a serum on my combinaison skin. However, I gave it a try and was surprised to see how fast my skin absorbed the product. It does not leave me with a shiny skin. My skin is smooth and practically free of imperfections (there is absolutely nothing I can do to prevent a few bumps around that time of the month…). I only have to use one pump. So this tiny bottle will last for months!

Ingredients:

Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil*, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil•, Camellia Sinensis (Camellia) Oil*, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil•, (Macadamia) Ternifolia Seed Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil•, Rosa Moschata (Rosehip) Seed Oil•, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Seed Oil•, Mentha Arvensis (Peppermint)*, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil•, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender)•, Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Oil•, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)• [For External Use Only]

The last step is to moisturize my lips. I use this lip balm (Luxurious Organic Lip Balm) that I won as part of a Youtube giveaway price. I love it. It is natural and organic. It has a nice mint scent and keeps my lips hydrated throughout the night. You can find more info about this product here.

Also, I have a coupon code ”judith” for my trusty followers to get 10% off your purchases on the London Ivy products website. Feel free to use it!

Now I am ready for bed or for a Friday night movie!
