4 Tops, One pattern

In a effort to make my wardrobe more work-friendly, I’ve been sewing more casual clothing. A few months ago, I went on a hunt for the perfect work appropriate top.

I work with kids. I have to bend, twist, lift, push, run, jump, crawl. As an occupational therapist working with kids with special needs, I make all sorts of mouvement that require me to dress with comfortable clothes. However, it also need to be stylish…!

While browsing on the McCall patterns website, I came across this pattern: McCall’s 6566. It caught my attention right away! This Hi-Low pullover top was the perfect fit! I especially love the fact that the back is longer! With these low waist pants/jeans, I always have to make sure that I am not traumatizing those kids when I bend down…!!!

So far, I’ve made 4 versions of this top and plan to make more! I can wear them for various occasions.

I used a knit fabric for three of the tops. The plaid one is a polyester crepe fabric. All fabrics were purchase at my local Fabricville store in Montreal.

The instructions were very easy to follow. I made view B, minus the pocket. Since I chose fabrics with bold prints, I found that adding a pocket would be too much. It is a two pattern piece project. The neck is finished using bias tape.
