Hi sewfriends!
I am back with one of my July to-do list item: The wrap dress!
I used McCall’s 6884 for this dress (which is a mock wrap dress). I’ve been eyeing this pattern for awhile now. So I decided to grab it on the last McCall’s 1.99$ sale.
This is a quick knit project. I did this dress in about 3 hours from cutting to hemming. The most “difficult” part was to cut the fabric. The front and back piece are cut full length (Bodice and skirt are fused). I had to take it to my sewing room floor which made it hard to use my rotary cutter and self-healing mat… I do not have a cutting table big enough for that (one day, one day…).
When I bought this fabric, I immediately envisioned it as a wrap-dress. However, I did not think about how the wrong side would look like in a very opened wrap-dress… It kind of gets on my nerve now that I completed the project… The wrong side (which is WHITE) is a total distraction for this dress. Should have thought of if earlier but hey, I didn’t…!
I knew that this dress was about to expose my “sexitude” (a word that my friend Yo created). I just did not anticipate not being able to walk without holding the dress down!!! I wore it for a trip to the beach and there was a lot of wind! Happy that I had a second outfit to wear because, it was not functional at all! Next time I wear this dress, I will need a push-up bra and black shorts! With a push-up bra the girls will be sitting at the right place and the dress won’t move that much! I won’t have to constantly adjust my dress (I’m still laughing when I think about everything I went through to wear this dress)!!!
I have another wrap-dress pattern (M7119) I want to make this month! Hopefully, I will be back soon to share my result! I also want to make view B and C on M6884 for fall.
Do you enjoy wearing wrap-dress? Let me know it the comment section! Talk to you soon!
Special Shoutout to Lil Sis for taking those pictures for me! xxx

This is a lovely dress. I really like the fabric print, don’t worry too much about the inside.
