It’s was one my of my good friend’s bachelorette party last weekend and we had to wear a little black dress.
I quickly realized that I did not own a little black dress!!
A few weeks ago, McCall’s had a pattern sale and some of their patterns were at 0,99 - 1,99$ online! Need less to say that I went over the website and browsed through the patterns to find the one I was gonna use for My little black dress!
I chose Butterick B5353(click the link if you want to see the pattern envelop).
Here is my version!
Pattern Description: Butterick B5353
Pattern Sizing: 8-10-12-14 (I cut a size 10)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It was relatively easy to do. Nothing to complain about!
Fabric Used: Linen.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes & Yes!!!!
I need to add that the pattern took 3 full weeks to get here (Montreal). I received it Friday afternoon and my event was on Saturday night!
As soon as got off work, I jumped on my sewing machine and had a «Make it work» Tim Gunn moment… I finished the dress Saturday… I ended up not lining the skirt (only the bodice) because I ran out of time! Will probably add it soon although it is totally fine without!
Tell me, do you own a little black dress???
Talk to you soon!
(Full look for the event)
Looks so good on you! Great fit!
Thank you for stopping by!!!
Wow. To have whipped this up in such a short time frame, it looks wonderful.
Thank you!!!! I don’t usuallydo my sewing project in a short time frame! But I did it for my girl. Won’t make it a habit lol!! I’m exhausted now!!
