Spring Wrap Skirt

Hi sewfriends!

I am back with another Couture Nomad pattern test. This time I am presenting the Angkor wrap skirt!

I really wanted to rock the wrap skirt look this summer! Since floral prints are trendy this season, I went for this black and white print. I was originally looking for a more colorful fabric but couldn’t find one that I liked! I saw lots of linen (with floral prints) in the store but I’m one who does not enjoy HAVING TO iron my clothes in order to wear them…. So i settled for this fabric which does not wrinkle. It is a polyester fabric and it is light weight .

The pattern comes in 5 pieces ( front skirt, back skirt, waistband -front & back and tie) . The instructions where very easy to follow. I assembled the pdf pattern much quicker this time 🙂 !! I went ahead and cut a small.

I made a slight modification to the original pattern. I found that the slits were very high considering that it is already a wrap dress (which usually tends to open and show lots of legs lol). So I made them shorter and I feel more comfortable wearing this type of skirt like this! I really enjoyed the fact that the finish touches were done using topstitching. I had no hand sewing to do (happy dance - I do not particularly enjoy hand sewing).

Once the skirt was completed, I decided that it was time to wear it for a walk in the park! It was a very warm day and I enjoyed wearing this skirt. The fabric allows for my skin to breathe and it has lot of movement!

I really want to add a couple of wrap dresses to my wardrobe. If you have any pattern suggestion, please leave them below!!

As always, thank you for reading and I’ll be back soon!
