Butterick 6223 Culottes

Hi sewfriends!

Another project I had in my Agenda for this Spring/Summer was Culottes! When I saw Butterick 6223, I knew I had to make my own version! I am slim and with very slim legs… So I decided to go with the shorter version to avoid accentuating my thin legs and ankles lol!

I used a Rayon fabric for this look. This fabric has been sitting in my stash for the past 2 years… It was time for me to do something with it! I love how flowy those culottes are! Perfect for any really hot day in the city!

The patterns instructions were very easy to follow. There is a couple of pleats to do (in total 6). The waistband is elastic which made this project so easy to complete. I hate inserting zippers in such light fabrics! I am glad I didn’t have to! As you can see in the pictures, I am enjoying the fact that these culottes have pockets! I am a sucker for pockets in skirts and now in culottes!

Culottes are a must have this Spring and Summer! Are you going to give it a try? I saw a cute culotte pattern in Simplicity new patterns collection. I really want to make them. I hope I’ll be able to get a copy of this pattern soon…! They do not sell Simplicity patterns in Canada…! I’m working on it!

Talk to you soon!
