Hi sewfriends!
I participated in the Pretty Girls Sew April’s sewalong! I completed my jumpsuit just in time to submit my look! If you don’t know by now, I AM A JUMPSUIT ADDICT!
I really wanted an Olive Green jumpsuit for Spring! I bought this rayon fabric on sale a few months ago with no particular intention but it was the perfect match for this project (something like 5$ for 2.5 meters of fabric….)!
It took me several sewing sessions to complete this project. Overall, the instructions were pretty clear. I was rushing to finish this project in time (started it on the last week of April). Result: I made several mistakes when attaching the waistband. First, the wrong side of the fabric is on the outside… Then, I connected the waistband upside down… By the time I realized it, it was too late, I had already serged a couple of seams… I had to play with the gathers to make everything fit… In the end the waist was not fitted. It gave me the loose jumpsuit look. I’m not sure if I want to wear it like this… still on the fence about that look on me… So I decided to pull out a belt and rock it anyway!
I’m pretty satisfied of my jumpsuit (except for the fit at the waist). I love the look and will certainly rock this jumpsuit in the next months! I want to make a short and sleeveless version of this pattern in the next weeks.
Here’s to adding a new jumpsuit to my collection! Up next, is McCall’s 7366 Jumpsuit!
