Hi sewfriends!
I’ll be bombarding you with patterns reviews this week! We finally have nice weather here in Montreal! So I pulled my Camera out and booked my friend Maëva for a photoshoot!
I challenged ladies from my Quebec sewing Facebook group to make a Shift Dress in April! I came up with these 2 looks using McCall’s 6465.
I used Vicose Rayon fabrics for both looks. They both give me a light and flowy spring/summer dress. I bought both fabrics at my local Fabricville Store (in Montreal).
The sewing instructions are pretty easy to follow. I am planning to make more versions of this dress. This is a very quick project (max 3-4 hours from cut to finish).
I think that the Shift dress is a must have for Spring and Summer 2016! They can be worn with or without belts. I chose to wear this one without a belt since it really flatters my body.
Do you love Shift dresses? Do you know any other Shift dress patterns I should try? Please let me know in the comments!
Talk to you soon!

I love shift dresses too! and I love the fabric you chose!!!
Thanks!!
Just love the ease of this shift, particularly like the blue and white…and the short sleeves….think I need a couple of them too!
Thank you Laura! I’m sure you’ll enjoy wearing these! Such a confortable dress!!!!
Love that this can be dressed up or down. Like you said, very versatile. I have this pattern and have been wanting to try it. I’m a newbie so this will be my first make. Hope I don’t screw it up. lol
Thank you! I really encourage you to give it a try. It is a great beginner pattern I think! And such a confortable dress! Let me know if you do!
