Sometimes I wish that I was working in a office… Just to wear high heels and pencil skirts EVERYDAY! But this is not my reality and I’m ok with it lol! So I thought, why not create a Spring Office Look just for fun? I can still wear it to church! This is what I came up with!
The skirt is self-drafted following my Skirt pattern-making class I took a year ago. I had this perfect plaid fabric in my fabric library. When cutting the fabric, I really wanted to match EVERY seams. I have never been so meticulous with fabric cutting. I think I did a great job?! I even got the invisible zipper right! The waist band seam is not as perfect but I was so excited about having all my seams match that it did not bother me!!
The Burda top wasn’t complicated to create. However, I had a little issue with the neckline and neck facing. I hate that Burda patterns often make you lower the neck line after sewing the shoulder seams… It get’s on my nerve since I don’t really like cutting through seems… I mean, why didn’t they lower the neck line on the pattern from the beginning?? Please help me understand if you know the answer…!!! Anyway, I love that this top can be worn tucked in or out (Clic here to see how it look when wearing it out).
I love the detail at the back and made sure to choose a cute button to bring a little attention on the split.
I think i would really enjoy wearing skirts on a daily basis! Are you a skirt wearer? Let me know in the comments!
Talk to you soon!

Great job on that skirt! I wear office wear every day and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. By 2 p.m. my feet are tired and the first thing I do when I get home is put on my sweatpants.
Thank you Carmen! Yes I am quite sure that I would be tired of wearing heels for long hours! But I really love wearing skirts these days! Thanks for passing by. Take care!!
tout est dans les détails!
u slayed the spring office look with that one!
Merci ma belle! J’aimerais tellement m’habiller comme cela à tous les jours! J’espère te transmettre la passion bientôt! A+
I am definitely a skirt wearer. You did such an amazing job - both pieces look great. That’s what’s so amazing about making your own clothes - you can totally make anything you want just for fun!
Aww nice that you love skirts too! Thank you! I will find comfortable skirt patterns (or design my own) so I can wear more skirts at work!
